Beginning of Nestle with its founder in Switzerland
In the 19th century 1867,(making product and establishing the factories )
A man named Henri Nestle started the Farine Lactee Nestle company in Switzerland. After completing medical studies he shifted to Switzerland with his wife.
At the time lots of small babies were facing the problem of malnutrition. So Henri tries to make healthy baby food that can solve the malnutrition problem. After many years of research, he finally made a kid's milk with just using milk, grains, and sugar.
The product was actually giving benefit to the babies who are facing malnutrition. That’s why in just a year this product got famous in all Switzerland.
In 1871,(the business race)
Nestle began to sell its product and started earning money. After some time other companies also started selling baby food like Nestle. But this company does not like to have competitors selling the same product. So the Nestle company started to sell condensed milk to beat competitors.
Nestle and also swiss condensed milk company wanted to beat each other. So they decrease the price of the product so the sales increase and can beat each other’s sales. Both companies were able to increase their sales but due to the fall in price, their amount of profit went down and down.
After the death of owners of both companies in 1905, both companies joined to create a monopoly and the company was named Nestle & Anglo-swiss condensed milk company. sometime later the company was named Nestle.
After the deal to join with anglo swiss company the company owns 20 factories.
During the first world war(1914-1918),
The company was facing problems in supplying raw materials to the factories. At the time of the war, people are forced to be in the army. And slowly all workers of factories are forced to join the army. At last factories not have workers to work.
To overcome this problem many companies started shifting their factories in other countries. Where conditions are normal during the war.like America, Australia.
Between 1930-1940,
Nestle started to open their factories in many countries. So that they do not need to close their factories in any condition.
In 1939 second world war(1939-1945),
Nestle got the contract of package food and condensed milk for the U.S. army. Which resulted in a high profit of the company. But this profit was until the end of the war only. then the supply was stopped.
after the company launched many types of milk-based products in the market. And Nescafe was one of them. Which was liked by people and got famous in a very short period of time.
Also, Nestle purchased many small companies and made their product international brand. Like Maggi, KitKat, polo, and many more.
